Age of Conan Patch Notes

With the recent release of the highly successful Age of Conan MMORPG, developer Funcom has seen fit to update the title with a new patch today.

Age of Conan Invades Leipzig

Funcom's highly anticipated massively multiplayer online game 'Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures' is getting ready to invade this year's Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany. Not only will the siege warfare system be demonstrated to select press behind closed doors, gamers will also be able to join in on the fun by playing against each other in brutal, bloody, and ferociously fast-paced player-versus-player battles on the show floor.

Age of Conan Patch Plans

Funcom has released patch plans to Age of Conan, the company's popular fantasy MMO. While Funcom said this week's patch is a minor one, players should expect a bigger update sometime next week.

Funcom Announces Age of Conan

Funcom announces 'Age of Conan - Hyborian Adventures', an Online Action RPG scheduled for Windows in the first half of 2006. A mix of a deep, story-driven single-player experience and a massive and brutal multiplayer end-game brings forth the ultimate representation of the Age of Conan. Now you can enter the brutal domain of the world's greatest fantasy hero.

Turbonegro Slays Age of Conan

Heavy Metal and barbarians go together like peanut butter and jelly. Just look at any metal cover from the '80s, watch Derek Smalls in This is Spinal Tap or read a selection of metal lyrics. Even the words "heavy metal" dredge up images of armor-laden warriors heading into battle.

Age of Conan in '08?

Conan fans had an eye towards Q2 (April-June) for the PC release of the first MMO ever set in the Hyborian Age. Sadly, the wait just got a little longer. Today, Funcom and Eidos announced that Age of Conan will ship for PC on October 30. With the Xbox 360 version still planned to ship a few months later, console gamers will almost certainly have to wait until 2008 to enter a world originally conceived by Robert E. Howard.

Age of Conan Progress Report

Yesterday it was announced that Microsoft had approved the 360 version of Age of Conan. That particular skew won't be out in 2007, but we figured we'd we might as well let you in on the fun. Below, you'll find a preview based on the most recent PC build. While the 360 version isn't ready to show at this point, Funcom reps did say that it was up and running back at their offices and even talking with the Xbox Live! servers at this point. We're not saying everything will be the same between the two versions but it's as good a place to start as any if you haven't heard about the game already.

Age of Conan Reaches One Million Milestone

Funcom is proud to announce that Age of Conan will pass the astounding "One Million Copies Shipped" milestone, in less than three weeks after the launch of the game. Due to overwhelming demand Funcom's retail partner is now re-supplying retail boxes rapidly while also including new markets to the mix.

Age of Conan Collector's Edition Review

After numerous delays and mounting hype, Funcom's Age of Conan was finally released three weeks ago. Based on the fiction of early 20th century pulp writer Robert E. Howard, the new massively mutliplayer game is faithful to the source material, meaning that you'll be spending most of your time watching muscled brutes smashing and chopping their way through ranks of enemies.

Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures AU Impressions

Writer Robert E. Howard - or "Two-Gun Bob" as he was known to his friends - created the literary character known as Conan the Barbarian in 1932. Howard's use of dense, dark prose and rich, fantastic imagery has been credited by many with starting the Sword-and-Sorcery sub-genre. Something that has been a bountiful, creative well for other mediums. We've had multiple Conan books, numerous comic book incarnations, two movies - Conan the Barbarian (quite good) and Conan the Destroyer (quite shit) and of course, Conan games.
